Have you ever imagined a surreal place that connects to our world? Maybe this is one. The project was to express a verb using a white cube, and I explored many different approaches before deciding to create a space that feels surreal and almost like a maze. ˙ǝɹɐ ʎǝɥʇ ǝɹǝɥ puɐ 'sɹᴉɐʇs ɹɐlnƃǝɹɹᴉ ɥʇᴉʍ pǝllᴉɟ ǝɔɐld ɐ pǝuoᴉsᴉʌuǝ I 'uoᴉʇɐuᴉƃɐɯᴉ puɐ sǝᴉɹoɯǝɯ ʎɯ ɯoɹℲ. But it wouldn't be fun without some inhabitants, so I added colorful gummy bears and baby toys to weave stories into the scene. This surreal space happens to be inside one of my shoeboxes because why not? After all, no one ever really knows what's in the box unless they take a look inside...
