This zine draws inspiration from an artwork by Anna Maria Maiolino I encountered in Milan, which featured layered papers with holes.
These holes evoked me thoughts of our planet's layers being continuously covered by new ones over time. It spurred me to create an accordion-type binding zine, using holes as a metaphor to reflect social issues, both present and future.
Just like unresolved problems on our planet, these holes symbolize issues that grow larger and more persistent while our future opportunities shrink.
Each layer in my book represents a new phase in time, with unresolved issues from the past becoming more entrenched, provoking reflection on our collective responsibility to address these problems before they consume our future.
