There are always things in our lives that we don't want to use anymore, right? Maybe an old jacket, an old TV, or an old bag.
I remember reading something in LUSH’s zine, JOIN THE REGENERATION: when we throw something "away," it's not really going anywhere but the landfill unless it's recycled or burned.
They also introduced the idea of a "repair cafe." While there might not be one near you or you might not have time to go, you can always do it yourself at home. There are tons of videos on YouTube teaching you how to reuse stuff.
For example, I purchased this Gucci bag from a second-hand website. It was pretty much damaged, and I thought someone would probably use it for a while and then abandon it. However, I wanted to revive it, and that's what I did—and will continue to do.
So, before you decide to throw something "away," think again about whether it can be given new life. Be creative, or put it on a second-hand website and let someone else do it.
